Yummy Mushrooms! Kale & Chick Peas

I usually do not have a great deal of time to prepare food. Simply is good!

I love my Portobello Mushrooms, this time I decided to use the dehydrator. I washed and sliced the mushroom in 1/4 inch strips and then brushed them with a bit of olive oil, and sprinkled them with sea salt, turmeric and cumin. Two of my favourite spices. I then placed them on the dehydrator sheet and dehydrated them at 110 for 13 hours. They are yummy. Great to sprinkle on salad or eat along with your favourite raw pasta dish or just to snack on.

Here are a few!

So for supper last night, I need something fast, as we had a busy day. I had already made the mushrooms as well as a batch of Kale chips - You know how I love my kale chips! I then made a quick non-raw vegetarian dish, lightly warming in my wok some chickpeas and left over lightly grilled vegetables. Added some olive oil, sea salt, turmeric, cumin...and it was lovely.

  1. Looks wonderful. One of my favorite things to dehydtrate are mushrooms--I agree with you they are amazingly delicious.

  2. Thanks Elizabeth. This is my first time dehydrating them. I can not wait to do it again. How do you usually prepare yours?

  3. I make a simple marinade of coconut vinegar, first cold pressed olive oil, a teaspoon of pure maple syrup, onion powder to taste and a splash of low sodium Tamari. Let marinate overnight and then drain off the liquid and dehydrate until warm and almost chewy.
